Why use PDF Editor on PDF NOVA

Everything in one place

Text, images, shapes, highlights, comments, links, whiteout and signatures share one workspace with undo/redo.

Files stay on your device

Processing happens in your browser. Your document is never uploaded to a server, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.

No sign-up, no watermark

Open the page and start working. Results are clean PDFs with no branding added.

Processing on your device

PDF Editor processes your file in your browser on your device. The file is not uploaded for processing. Download the result to keep a permanent copy. Your active PDF is saved locally in this browser for recovery across refreshes. Close Document removes it; recovery expires after 24 hours and is cleaned up when PDF NOVA next opens. Unsaved changes are not restored.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install software?

No. The editor runs in modern browsers on Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPad and Android tablets.

Can I edit the existing text in a PDF?

Yes. Click text to edit its whole paragraph. Your new text uses the PDF’s own font when it has every character, else a matching or the closest available font (the editor says which). When you save, the original text is removed from the page; where that is not safe (for example text inside a shared page object) it is covered instead and stays in the file underneath, and the editor tells you so.
