Why use PDF to CSV on PDF NOVA
Files stay on your device
Processing happens in your browser. Your document is never uploaded to a server, so there is nothing to delete afterwards.
Excel-ready files
Fields are quoted correctly, UTF-8 comes with an optional byte order mark so accents survive in Excel, and you can choose comma or semicolon delimiters and a decimal point or comma.
No sign-up, no watermark
Open the page and start working. Results are clean PDFs with no branding added.
Processing on your device
PDF to CSV processes your file in your browser on your device. The file is not uploaded for processing. Download the result to keep a permanent copy. Your active PDF is saved locally in this browser for recovery across refreshes. Close Document removes it; recovery expires after 24 hours and is cleaned up when PDF NOVA next opens. Unsaved changes are not restored.

Frequently asked questions
Is PDF to CSV free?
Yes. PDF to CSV is free to use without an account and does not add a watermark to your file.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. This tool runs entirely in your web browser using JavaScript and Web Workers. The file is read from your device, processed in memory and saved back to your device.
How are tables found?
Columns are detected from how the text lines up on the page, using the same method as PDF to Excel. Lines with two or more aligned columns form a table; a large vertical gap starts a new one. Borders, colours and merged cells are not used, so check the preview.
Does it work with scanned receipts and photos?
Not directly: a scan contains an image, not text. Run OCR PDF first to add a text layer, then open the result here.
What happens to numbers?
By default numbers such as 1,250.00, (84.20) or $1,200 are written as plain numbers (1250, -84.2, 1200) so a spreadsheet can add them up; turn this off to keep the text as printed. Cells that begin with = + - or @ and are not numbers get a leading apostrophe so a spreadsheet does not run them as formulas.
