Terms of Use

Last updated: 15 October 2026

The rules for using the PDF NOVA Android app and pdf-nova.com, in plain language.

1. Agreement

These terms apply to the PDF NOVA Android app and the website pdf-nova.com (together, “PDF NOVA”), published by an individual developer based in Tunisia (“we”, “us”). By using PDF NOVA you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, do not use PDF NOVA.

2. The service

PDF NOVA provides tools to view, create, edit, convert, organise, sign, protect and understand documents. Most tools are free; some features or higher limits require PDF NOVA Pro. Some features need an internet connection or a server, as described in each tool. We improve PDF NOVA continuously, so features may be added, changed or removed. We may also limit use to keep the service available to everyone (for example file size, number of documents or AI requests).

3. Your content

Your documents remain yours. We claim no ownership of them. When you use a feature that sends content to a server, you allow us and our providers to process that content only to return your result, as described in the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the documents you work on and must have the right to use, edit, convert or share them. Keep your own copies of important files: PDF NOVA never changes the original you open, but we cannot guarantee that a file stored only in the app will never be lost (for example if you uninstall the app or clear its storage).

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use PDF NOVA for anything illegal, or to process content you have no right to process;
  • remove protection from documents you are not authorised to open or modify;
  • create forged, fraudulent or misleading documents or signatures;
  • upload malware or content designed to harm our servers or other users;
  • overload or attack our servers, use automated means to access them beyond normal use, or work around limits, ads or rewards;
  • copy, resell or reverse-engineer PDF NOVA except where the law expressly allows it.

We may suspend access or an account that breaks these rules.

5. Accounts

An account is optional. If you create one, give accurate information, keep your password safe and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the higher minimum age in your country) to create an account. You can delete your account at any time; see Delete your account.

6. PDF NOVA Pro and payments

In the Android app, PDF NOVA Pro is sold through Google Play:

  • Monthly and yearly plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions; Pro stays active until the end of the period already paid.
  • Lifetime, when offered, is a one-time purchase that unlocks Pro for as long as PDF NOVA Pro is offered.
  • Prices, taxes and any free trial are shown by Google Play before you buy. If a trial is offered, the subscription starts at the end of the trial unless you cancel before.
  • Payments, refunds and billing questions are handled by Google under the Google Play terms and refund policy. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.

If you sign in, your Pro purchase can be used on your other devices with the same account. If we change the price of a subscription, Google Play tells you in advance and you can cancel before the new price applies.

7. Ads and rewards

The free app shows ads. Some features can be unlocked by watching an optional rewarded ad. Rewards (such as extra documents or AI steps) have no cash value, cannot be transferred and may be cancelled if they were obtained by fraud or by working around the ad system.

8. AI features

Summaries, answers, extracted tasks, translations and study material are generated automatically and can be incomplete or wrong. Always check them against the document before relying on them. They are not legal, medical, financial or other professional advice.

9. Conversions, OCR and signatures

Conversion and text recognition aim for faithful results but cannot be perfect for every document; check important output. Redaction removes the content you mark; review the result before sharing it.

The signature tools place your signature on a document. Whether a signature is legally valid depends on the document and the law of your country. PDF NOVA does not provide qualified or certified electronic signatures unless a tool explicitly says so.

10. Third-party services

PDF NOVA can connect to services you choose, such as Google Drive, OneDrive, SharePoint, Dropbox, or sign-in with Google or Microsoft. Their own terms apply to your use of them. We are not responsible for those services or for their availability.

11. Our rights

PDF NOVA, its name, logo, design and software belong to us. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app and website under these terms. Open-source components keep their own licences, which take precedence for those components.

12. No warranty

PDF NOVA is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under the law of your country.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, profits or business, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for PDF NOVA in the 12 months before the claim (or USD 10 if you paid nothing). This does not limit liability for gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or anything else that cannot be limited by law.

14. Ending the agreement

You can stop using PDF NOVA at any time by uninstalling the app and deleting your account. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we stop offering PDF NOVA; in that case we will give reasonable notice where possible. Paid subscriptions are then handled under the Google Play refund policy.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when PDF NOVA changes or the law requires it. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. For important changes we will tell you in the app or on the website before they apply. If you keep using PDF NOVA after a change, the new terms apply.

16. Applicable law

These terms are governed by the law of Tunisia, and the courts of Tunis have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring a claim before its courts. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to solve the problem.
